Ron Cooper, a Maryland native, is a living testament to the power of belief and acceptance. He credits four men (his grandfather, uncle, head football coach, and father-in-law) who believed in him and helped him overcome low self-confidence. Their unwavering support was instrumental in transforming Ron’s poor mental health into an Air Force F-4 fighter pilot with 300 combat missions and the commander he aspired to be.
After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, he applied to become an Air Force officer and pilot. He was selected to enter undergraduate pilot training, graduated as the top graduate in his class, and received the F-4 assignment he had longed for.
Numerous accolades and achievements mark Ron’s journey. He was awarded the “Distinguished Graduate and Valedictorian of the Pilot Training Class.” He received the “ATC Commander’s Trophy” for outstanding leadership. He served in Vietnam during the Lineback 1 and II campaigns and was the Tactical Air Command nominee for the “One of Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Year” award. His 22-year leadership career culminated in his commanding a squadron.
Following his Air Force career, he founded The Cooper Culture, a certified Veteran-Owned Small Business leveraging his military experience to benefit organizations through his business, leadership, and combat experience.
